Facts About Carlton Carlton is a suburb to the east of the city of Nottingham in the borough of Gedling. It is close to Sneinton, Bakersfield, Mapperley, and St Anns and is near the River Trent.
The main shopping street is Carlton Hill, which has several shopping chains, and smaller shops such as newsagents, chemists, and grocers. There is also a fairly large shopping area in Carlton Square.
There is a Tesco on Carlton Hill which was built on top of where the St Paul's primary school stood from around 1880-1983 when it was demolished.
The school itself was built next to a graveyard from the 17th Century, which was moved when Tesco was built. Shortly after Tesco was built there were reports of Poltergeist activity in the bakery which was situated over the cemetery but the rector of St Paul's at the time performed an exorcism and there have been no reports since.
